FREE MOVIE FOR SENIORS HOSTED BY HANCI’S COA & RSVP PROGRAMS

Technology can be frustrating- especially for senior citizens who did not grow up with technology at their fingertips.

The Council for Older Adults in Niagara County (COA) and Retired Seniors Volunteer Corp (RSVP) teamed up to host a FREE MOVIE DAY as an opportunity for Niagara County’s seniors to learn just how much technology can enrich their lives.

The event, taking place at 1 pm on Thursday, August 1 on the Niagara University campus, will be screening, CYBER-SENIORS, a funny and heartwarming documentary focusing on a group of seniors who take their first steps into cyber-space under the tutelage of teenage mentors.  The film expertly renders a thought-provoking look at a spirited group of men and women who are enriched by digitally re-connecting with their families and each other.

Technology experts (aka “teenagers”) will be on-hand to answer technology questions.  Seniors are invited to bring their phones, laptops, tablets and questions.

This event, presented in partnership with Niagara University’s Communication Studies Department, will take place in a theater-style classroom, Room 127 Dunleavy Hall. The event is FREE, but registration is required.  Call the COA at (716) 285-8224, ext. 215 or email: Barner@hanci.com  to register.
