Can you picture teenagers going to the Senior Prom with someone four times their age? That’s what this event is all about!
At the “Niagara County Senior Prom,” high school students escort older adults from throughout Niagara County for a unique and enjoyable event. They have dinner together, dance, tell stories and get to know each other. It’s not uncommon for the “couples” to stay in touch with each other long after the event ends.
At the Senior Prom, the generation gap disappears, and two very different groups of people begin to appreciate each other more fully.
Any Niagara County senior citizen is eligible to sign up on a first-come, first-served basis. Many are participants in HANCI programs. Some are residents of assisted living or skilled nursing facilities, but all are ambulatory. Students come from all across Western New York.
