HANCI - Adult Day Services

HANCI - The Health Association of Niagara County, IncHANCI Adult Day Services brightens the lives of caregivers and those they care for.  The program provides a safe, enjoyable environment for frail or disabled seniors to interact while caregivers are provided respite.  This allows the senior to remain in the home setting for a much longer time than might otherwise be possible.   Activities include reminiscence, sensory stimulation through music and art, and intergenerational activities.  Nutritious meals, exercise and transportation are important aspects of the program.

The program operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 2:30 pm.  Enrollment schedules are tailored to meet the family needs and can include schedules of less than 4 hours ($25) or more than 4 hours ($40).  Breakfast and lunch are served daily.  A full time personal care aide provides personal assistance as needed.  Volunteers from the Senior Companion Program assist participants and provide many new friends with whom to interact.

Services can be provided through direct fee payment by the family, qualification in the Long Term Home Health Care program of the Niagara County Department of Social Services, or funding assistance through the Niagara County Office for the Aging.  Please discuss these options with the director. Transportation needs and options should also be discussed with the director at the time of enrollment.

HANCI's Adult Day Services program is in compliance with standards set by the New York State Office for the Aging and is a member of the New York State Adult Day Services Association.
