Durante named CEO of Complete Senior Care
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., April 21, 2008 – The Health Association of Niagara County Inc. (HANCI) and the Dale Association announced the appointment of Salvatore C. Durante as chief executive officer of Complete Senior Care, an innovative long-term care program scheduled to open in December 2008.
HANCI Executive Director John Kinner and Dale Association President and Chief Executive Officer Linda Van Buskirk cited Durante’s experience and personal attributes as major factors in his hiring. “We are pleased to welcome Sal to lead Complete Senior Care,” said Kinner. “His compassion and work ethic helped us determine he is the most qualified person for this position.”
“With a proven record of success, Sal shares our vision of Complete Senior Care and we are looking forward to his contributions,” added Van Buskirk.
Durante’s past positions include chief financial officer of Lake Shore Behavioral Health Inc., senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Child and Family Services of Buffalo, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Highgate Medical Group, and executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York.
Durante holds master’s degrees in business administration and rehabilitation counseling from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He lives in Hamburg with his wife, and their two children.
As one of about 40 Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly in the nation, Complete Senior Care will provide a full range of services to help nursing home-eligible older adults remain living at home. These services will include adult day services, home care, primary care, hospital care, prescriptions, therapy, specialty care, social work and spiritual care. The Complete Senior Care clinic and day center will be located at HANCI’s Main Street facility in Niagara Falls, which will be renovated extensively. A second center will follow in Lockport in 2011.
HANCI and the Dale Association have formed a new, nonprofit corporation to operate Complete Senior Care. The two agencies are equal partners in the new organization.
Founded in 1927, HANCI, a not-for-profit community organization, provides a range of programs and services that promote independence and a healthy lifestyle across generations.
The Dale Association, founded in 1951, is a multi-service agency providing senior services, adult mental health programs, self-enrichment activities and supportive case management programs.
